Industri- & marinteknisk katalog – Ventiler og armatur | Industrial & Shipbuilding Catalogue – Valves and armature | Catalog Naval & Industrial – Valvule și armături In today’s digital society we still ask whether printed catalogues are needed, even 100 years after Brødrene Dahl was founded. We have for a number of years had good electronic catalogues and brochures in addition to the current Industrial Catalogue. The question of whether this issue should be electronic was raised again. Customer feedback shows that so many still prefer the printed version and we will of course fulfill our customers’ wish and demand. Please remember that you also have the opportunity to order through our E-commerce channel available through our website www.dahl.no. The industrial sector is in many ways different than other sectors. This is stated clearly in the government’s new white paper. In short, changes in the Norwegian industrial sector has great repercussions. After the fall in oil prices in recent years, the export from the mainland is now the same size as the total export of oil and gas from the Norwegian sector. The industrial sector is dominant in the internationally competition exposed part of the economy which salary negotiations in Norway are based on, (frontfagsmodellen). Despite the fact that the industrial sector with its 240,000 employees is not the largest employer, industrial employees live in all Norwegian municipalities, except one. The spreading consequences through the value chain can be seen everywhere. To succeed in the export market, a high-cost country needs competence building, technology investments, product and design development and brand building. This gives the products an added value, characteristics and qualities that competitors cannot match. At the same time the industrial sector must be one step ahead when it comes to readjustments and productivity. Lean projects are taking place in many industry companies; in other businesses and parts of the public sector this concept is unknown to many. This development is putting ever more stringent demands on us who has a strategic ambition to be leading in technical commodity trade for the industry sector. Brødrene Dahl has in recent years put down a substantial effort and investment in order to meet these demands. I wish you all the best in your work and your main tasks. Brødrene Dahl’s sales staff and technical support functions contribute to more than answering all your questions.
